Koreena & Jamie

Koreena Byron and Jamie Woodward

For Koreena Byron and Jamie Woodward, reading their own written vows, back to back and away from their guests in an intimate moment was the highlight of their wedding day.

“It was intimate, romantic and filled with our pure emotions without feeling like all eyes were on us,” Koreena says.

The Nairne couple, who met at a friend’s party as teenagers and have been together for 13 years, were married on October 28.

Jamie proposed in December last year at home and in front of their two children, 11-year-old Connor and eight-year-old Chloe.

“Jamie’s a bit of a joker so he acted like he got hurt and needed an ice pack and when I went to go get it he got into place and surprised me when I walked back around the corner,” Koreena says.

The couple was married at Maison de Moon at Clarendon, under an arbor made by Jamie, and their children were their flower girl and ring bearer.

The day was captured by one of Koreena’s closest friends, a photographer who travelled from Mildura.
