Jock & Jacinta

Jacinta Paffett and Jock Maxwell

Jock Maxwell’s proposal to Jacinta Paffett left the couple on top of the world – literally!
Jock got down on one knee at 24,000 feet during a flight from Melbourne to Adelaide after flight attendants presented the couple with champagne and a box of chocolates – with the ring hidden inside – as a mid-flight snack.
“Jock took a knee and I said ‘yes!’ before he could even utter a word,” Jacinta says.
“Jock went above and beyond to create the most romantic and special proposal.”
Jock, originally from Hahndorf, and Jacinta, from Happy Valley, moved to Queensland for work in 2021, but, inspired by their “strong love and connection” to the Adelaide Hills, they returned to the area to tie the knot on March 25, 2023.

They were married at The White House at Hahndorf and Jacinta describes walking down the tree-shadowed aisle as a moment she’ll “never forget”.
“Peering over the crowd to see Jock waiting at the alter with all our favourite people was unbelievably humbling,” she says.
“Pausing at the end of the gravel, seeing our bridal party and Jock standing there all smiles and tears was something I’ll never be able to explain.
“Stepping onto the grass and walking through the tree- shadowed aisle was truly a moment I’ll never forget.”
