It was a shared love of the country, shearing and Jim Beam, as well as common values that drew Jenna Maxwell and Luke Sparks to one another.
The couple, who had mutual friends, connected after Luke messaged Jenna after “a few too many Jim Beam cans”, and they soon discovered how much they had in common.
“It just felt natural for us and I am now a believer when people say ‘you will just know’,” Jenna says.
Jenna, who spent a large part of her life living at Kenton Valley, married her love at Mount Beare Station at Mt Compass on February 15, after Luke went down on one knee and proposed during a weekend getaway at Beachport.
Jenna wore a white dress by designer Rue De Seine, before surprising guests with a second dress by the same designer.
“It was an old design from many years ago and I had to track it down online – it was my dream dress,” she says.
Jenna says the highlights of the wedding included gathering all their favourite people in the same place and seeing their vision come to life.
“The day was filled with so much love and seeing everyone on the dance floor having the best time made all my stress worth it,” she says.
“And obviously now sharing the same last name.”
