Gourmet Bits n’ Bites

Berliner Weisse Project

Two of the Adelaide Hills’ favourite producers have teamed up to create the Berliner Weisse Project – a local take on a German summer favourite. The collab brings together the Prancing Pony’s Berliner Weisse – a tart wheat beer with origins in 16th Century Germany – and an exclusive Beerenberg strawberry syrup.
Traditionally served in a goblet in venues in and around Berlin, a shot of syrup softens the beer’s mild sour and tart flavour. The Berliner Weisse Project comes in a pack including nine cans of Berliner Weisse, a bottle of Beerenberg syrup and nine eco-friendly straws.

French temptations

Stirling is now home to all things French!
The owners of French store Les Deux Coqs – who have been trading at the Stirling Market for two years – recently opened a permanent shop in the town. The shop is the third opened by Bastien and Katia who moved to Australia from France, with other stores already established at the Adelaide Central Markets and Rundle Mall.
From pastries to pâté to créme brulée let yourself be swept up in Katia and Bastien’s passion for French food!

Atelier Crafers

Did you know Atelier at Crafers is more than just a cafe and art destination? It also offers live music sessions every Sunday arvo.
In fact, it recently picked up the OneMusic Excellence Award at the Restaurant & Catering Australia Hostplus 2023 Awards for Excellence, reserved for dining venues that use music as a drawcard.

Wicks Estate wine

Looking for the perfect red? Wicks Estate’s 2022 Pinot Noir won four trophies at the 2023 International Cool Climate Wine Show recently, including Best Wine in Show and Best Australian Wine.
The Woodside-based winery’s 2021 Shiraz also picked up a gold medal at the show.

Beerenberg is officially one of SA’s favourite brands! The Hahndorf strawberry farm and maker of all things delicious – from jam to relish – recently won the Consumer Award – which is voted by the public – alongside Kytons Bakery, at the South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards.

After being forced to relocate because of a devastating fire at the Stirling Village Mall, Stockpot, which specialises in ready-made meals, is still going strong. It’s moved into its sister venue, Cellars & Patisserie, also at Stirling, and was recently named among the 2023 delicious 100 for its pies.
