Gourmet Bits n’ Bites

1
Drive-through cafes

Did you know you can pick up your favourite baked treats on the go? The Wistow Bakery and Cafe, just outside of Mt Barker, offers a drive through service alongside dine-in and take-away … and the owners have just opened another drive-through cafe at Strathalbyn.
A convenient way to grab your morning coffee … and why not treat yourself to one of their mouthwatering pastries, pies or sandwiches while you’re at it!

2
World class restaurants

The Adelaide Hills really does have some of the best food offerings in the State.
If you don’t believe me, check out these local restaurants, which were all named in this year’s Australia Good Food Guide SA Restaurant Awards: Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant and Martha Hardy’s Kitchen at Mt Lofty House, Mt Lofty Ranges Vineyard, Pike + Joyce Restaurant, The Lane Vineyard and the Summertown Aristologist.

3
Gawler Street Cafe

You’ve heard of the dessert pizza … but what about the dessert toastie?
The Gawler Street Cafe has combined some of your favourite dessert flavours into a perfectly caramelised toastie! Past flavours include raspberry and Biscoff with a white chocolate and marshmallow syrup and peanut butter smores.
It’s one of the latest inventions of Gawler Street Cafe’s chef and we’re sure it won’t disappoint!
Check the specials board for the latest flavour!

4
Prancing Pony Beer Awards

We always knew they were good … but just in case we needed the proof the Prancing Pony walked away with nine medals at the recent Royal Adelaide Beer and Cider Awards.
Among them were the Prancing Pony Amber Weizen and XPA, which both took away gold medals.

5
The Plough

Craving a good home-style Irish feed?
The Plough at Hahndorf has you covered!
With regular Irish music nights and a menu featuring Irish favourites like traditional stew, sweet pancakes and seafood chowder, it’s the perfect place to enjoy craic agus ceol – and don’t forget to wash it all down with a pint of Guinness!

6
High tea with lofty views

Speaking of Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant, did you know they now offer high tea?
It’s available on Saturdays and Sundays, so why not enjoy culinary delights by a cozy fire-place with world-class views across the Piccadilly Valley!
