1Trace Foodsteps Farmers’ Market
Started this year, this market showcases some of the Adelaide Hills’ small-business gourmet groceries and beverages.
Think dukkah made with indigenous herbs, local small-batch spirits, artisan freeze-dried fruits and delicious donuts! Held on the fourth Saturday of the month at the Hahndorf Memorial Institute, it runs from 9am until 3pm.
2Cheese for good
Now there’s an extra reason to get your friends together and pull out the cheese platter! Lobethal-based Udder Delights has teamed up with The National Centre for Farmer Health (NCFH) to raise funding and awareness for farmer health.
As part of the partnership, 20 cents from every wheel of the brand’s most popular cheese, the 200g Double Cream Brie, will go towards the NCFH.
3Make your own pasta
Who doesn’t love pasta – and what better way to enjoy it than with the satisfaction of knowing it came from your own hand?
Aldgate’s Spaghetti Head, which operates on the philosophy of fresh, simple and local, is offering pasta making classes on Tuesday nights. Deliziosa!
4Ondeen
A collaboration between acclaimed chef Kane Pollard and small batch distillery Full Circle, Ondeen opened just weeks ago at the former Maximilian’s property at Verdun and is a place of tasting experiences. They currently have an airy dining space overlooking the dam and also offer a “field menu” – an elevated “picnic style” offering. They’re building their events capacity, with plans to also grow produce on site and host ‘place’ food experiences around the property.
