Welcome to the spring 2026 edition

Welcome to the spring 2026 edition of the Hills Wanderer …

There’s something promising about the start of spring. The trees begin to wake from their hibernation, the first sunny days bring the gentle hum of bees and early morning frosts begin to thaw just a little bit earlier each day.

As the region emerges from its winter languor, why not take the opportunity to bask in the sun and explore a part of the region you haven’t before. In this edition of the Hills Wanderer, we’ve collated a list of local activities that are perfect for spring – from connecting with nature at one of the region’s many wildlife parks to spending a lazy afternoon picking your own bouquet at one of the growing number of flower farms across the Adelaide Hills.

We’ll also introduce you to Lucy Frost – a local librarian with an unexpected side hustle – and take you inside the fascinating life of a retired media identity who’s interviewed more James Bonds than many people have watched on TV.

So head outside, find a sunny spot and let us take you through the best of what the Adelaide Hills has to offer this season.
